our academic pillars

  • literacy & composition

We build strong readers and confident writers through rich literature, structured writing instruction, and thoughtful discussion. Students learn to express ideas clearly, logically, and with maturity.

  • math mastery

Our math instruction emphasizes strong foundations, accuracy, and real understanding—not shortcuts. Students develop confidence in problem-solving and mathematical reasoning as skills build year over year.

  • Science & discovery

Students explore the natural world through meaningful instruction, observation, and hands-on learning. We emphasize curiosity, scientific thinking, and lab-based experiences.

  • History, Civics & cultural literacy

We teach students to understand history as a story of people, ideas, and cause and affect. Students learn how government works, how history has shaped the world, and how to think critically about current issues.

  • Biblical worldview

Biblical truth is integrated into every subject area, shaping how students understand knowledge, character, and purpose. Our goal is to develop discernment, wisdom, and a strong foundation of faith.

  • Character, Leadership & Life Skills

We believe education includes formation. Students are taught responsibility, integrity, and perseverance, while developing practical skills such as organization, communication, and serving others well.

kindergarten - 5th grade

Our K–5 program is designed to build a strong academic foundation during the most formative learning years. We focus on the essentials, including strong literacy, phonics, writing, and math mastery, while also supporting students as they grow in responsibility, confidence, and character. Instruction is structured, engaging, and intentionally paced to help students truly understand what they are learning.

Because enrollment varies from year to year, some grade levels may be combined depending on class size. A smaller grade may be paired with the grade above or below in order to maintain healthy class sizes and a sustainable staffing model. In combined classrooms, students are still taught at their individual level, with targeted small-group instruction and differentiated assignments, especially in reading and math.

6th-12th grade

Our 6–12 program is designed to provide strong, high-level academics while guiding students through the critical transition from childhood into capable young adulthood. As students grow, our focus expands beyond mastering core subjects and into developing the skills that matter most for life after graduation, including critical thinking, clear communication, responsibility, and independent reasoning.

Grades 6–12 are taught in a grouped classroom model. Students complete coursework at their individual academic level, with instructor oversight, accountability, and guidance. As Evergreen Christian Academy grows, our goal is to increase the amount of direct instruction in the upper grades and expand staffing over time to support students as they progress.

Our goal is to graduate students who are academically prepared, spiritually grounded, and personally equipped to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Whether students pursue a college pathway, vocational training, entrepreneurship, or other post-graduation goals, we aim to develop young adults who are capable, thoughtful, and ready to lead with wisdom and integrity.

curriculum standards & philosophies

  • We draw from a variety of trusted academic resources to create a well-rounded curriculum that aligns with our mission, engages students, and produces strong outcomes.

  • Our instruction is rooted in classical literature and strong literacy development. Students learn to read with depth, write with clarity, and engage thoughtfully with ideas while learning from timeless literature.

  • We prioritize strong foundations and true understanding, especially in math and core academics. Students are challenged to grow steadily, and retain information, not simply move through material.

  • We emphasize critical thinking, independent reasoning, and thoughtful exposition. Our goal is to develop students who can explain what they know, not just recall information.

  • In addition to bible curriculum, Biblical truth is woven throughout our program, shaping both content and character. Students are encouraged to pursue wisdom, discernment, and Christ-centered maturity.

  • Our academics are designed to prepare students for what comes next. Whether a student is college-bound or pursuing another path, we aim to develop capable, prepared young adults.

accreditation

Evergreen Christian Academy provides accredited schooling under the Academy Northwest Extension Program. Each student works with and is evaluated by a state-certified teacher on our staff who is authorized through ANW. This accreditation provides families with academic accountability, structured record keeping, and official transcript reporting as students progress through middle and high school. The expectations of the accrediting school are rigorous and align closely with the academic standards we uphold at Evergreen Christian Academy. We work closely with families to ensure required instructional hours, coursework, and credits are tracked and submitted appropriately so that accurate records and transcripts can be maintained.
